Get to know us

Welcome to Planted in Africa, a platform for people reimagining their lives on African soil — and creating the freedom to thrive once they arrive.

We help the modern African dreamer turn intention into action: from planning relocation and building digital income, to rediscovering the rhythm of wellness and heritage. This is where sustainability meets self-determination — rooted in culture, guided by purpose.

Why Planted in Africa

Authenticity: Every resource we share is rooted in lived experience and respect for African traditions — old wisdom meeting new opportunity.
Empowerment: We believe in ownership — of ideas, time, and future. Our tools help you build income and agency wherever you are.
Sustainability: Economic, cultural, and environmental sustainability are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Story

Planted in Africa began as a celebration of sustainable living and African wellness — but it’s grown into something bigger: a movement for reconnection and reinvention.

After years of research and community work, I realised that Africa holds both the roots of ancient wisdom and the routes to modern opportunity. Through AfriShift and our growing ecosystem of courses, planners, and experiences, I aim to help others make that shift — to live fully, freely, and intentionally, on their own terms.

Our mission

At Planted in Africa, our mission is to help members of the African diaspora confidently return to the continent — whether they have family ties there or not — and build lives they never feel the need to leave.

We believe a successful return isn’t luck; it’s preparation, strategy and mindset. That’s why every tool, programme and experience we create is built on behavioural science — helping you understand your habits, decision-making and motivation, so success becomes an inner process, not an external struggle.

We believe return is more than relocation; it’s a renewal of purpose. Our goal is to ensure every person who makes the journey is fully prepared .

Through practical guidance, proven tools and lived experience, we bridge the gap between dream and reality. Because a successful return isn’t just about moving back. It is about thriving once you arrive.

Our goal is simple: to make sure you arrive ready — financially secure, emotionally grounded and equipped to contribute meaningfully to Africa’s future.

About Aminata

Right now, I’m also walking the same path as many of the people I support: I’m preparing my own relocation to Senegal.

The idea for AfriShift grew from that experience and from something bigger. Over the past few years, I’ve watched the rise of far-right politics across the UK, Europe and much of the Western world. It’s forced many of us in the diaspora to ask hard questions about belonging, safety and future.

I created AfriShift to help people answer those questions with action.
My work blends scientific research, behavioural science and cultural intelligence to guide the diaspora in building realistic, sustainable lives in Africa. I’ve also worked with organisations expanding into West Africa, helping them navigate cultural awareness, ethics and community engagement, experience that now shapes how I help individuals prepare for their own transitions.

Planted in Africa and AfriShift are the results of all those threads coming together: science, psychology, creativity and a deep belief that our return to the continent can be intentional, informed and permanent.
